Every absence in one list
Cover lists who is away today, who is away soon and who was away before, with the type of absence: sickness, holiday or training. No reason is recorded for sickness.
Each absence shows how many of its visits still need cover, so you know where to start.
Line up cover before the day
For a planned absence such as a holiday, you can line up cover visit by visit and see how many are agreed, for example 3 of 17.
If someone agreed to cover but can't do it any more, the rota flags it, and a holiday with no agreed cover shows as a problem on the visit.
Off sick from the rota
When a carer rings in sick, mark them off sick from the rota itself. Their visits are flagged straight away, and a banner across the week shows who is away and how many visits they miss.
