Planning double-up visits

Visits that need two carers are the hardest to fill and the riskiest to get wrong.

Why double-ups come first

A visit that needs two carers, often for moving and handling, needs two people free at the same moment in the same place. That is much harder to find than one carer, so place double-ups before single visits.

Keep both carers in step

Both carers need to arrive together. Check each one's travel from their previous visit, because they will usually be coming from different places.

Treat one of two as a problem

A double-up with only one carer booked can't go ahead safely. Make half-filled double-ups stand out on your rota so they are fixed before the day.
